Hey there! Welcome to Mind Matters.
The Meaning Behind "Mind Matters"?
Here at Mind Matters we believe that to maintain your physical health and general wellbeing during this pandemic your mental health and mind matters. Other than your mind's well being mattering we deal with the "matters of your mind". We discuss issues and provide solutions to them through different activities.
Why we do it!
Quarantine and self-isolation can be very difficult and can have a very huge impact on our body and mind. Various studies have been carried out and it was found that self-isolated people are more likely to suffer from depression, hallucinate, have difficulties in decision making, are susceptible to illnesses, and are less able to properly deal with stressful situations. People suffer from these conditions because when we are self-isolated, we feel alone and as if we have no energy to do anything, and slowly we start to stop taking care of our selves. Many people also suffer from a wrecked sleeping cycle and are constantly fatigued due to self-isolation. This is because when we are stuck at home alone, we grow bored and feel as if there is no one to talk to/nothing to do, and this then resorts in us sleeping all day which makes it difficult for us to fall asleep at night.
We all go through these things because us humans are social creatures; we enjoy being surrounded by friends and family, and sharing our lives with them. It is a part of our daily lives, and when our entire life is put to halt suddenly, it affects us and our mental health because since we have nothing to do all day, our minds will constantly be at work. This causes us to have unhealthy thoughts which leads to us feeling alone and dropping into depression, along with many of the other conditions listed earlier. That's why we created this website to help our fellow peers to cope during these tough times, and to give them some ideas/inspirations on things to do while in quarantine.
